Service Description

Since the Yom Kippur War, Israel has experienced profound political, social, and ideological transformations. This topic invites a wide-ranging exploration of key events, internal tensions, and Israel’s evolving place in the world. Participants can help shape the focus based on their interests, making this course especially interactive and dynamic. ⚠️ Note on Sensitivity: Unlike historical periods with clearer hindsight, discussing recent decades — especially current events — involves strong emotions, political complexity, and personal narratives. This course draws not only on factual knowledge but also on my own perspectives and invites thoughtful dialogue rather than definitive conclusions. Option A – Turning Points in Israeli Society Explore key moments that reshaped Israel: the rise of Likud in 1977, Oslo Accords, Rabin’s assassination, the Second Intifada, and beyond. Option B – Religion, Identity, and Division How has the balance between religious and secular Israelis evolved? What tensions define today’s national identity? Option C – Israel and the World Today From diplomatic normalization to the image of Israel abroad, examine how foreign policy, conflict, and global trends influence Israel’s place in the world. Bonus Option – October 7th War Through a Soldier’s Eyes A personal and reflective session based on firsthand experience in Gaza. Examine the war of October 7 from the ground level, offering a unique, human perspective on an event that is still unfolding (more of a freestyle conversation).
